Esprit De Giraud Brut Nature Magnum (1500ml)

Golden with blond reflections typical of mature Pinot Noir. The nose carries stone fruit, pear and peach, with vanilla and white pepper spice over a base of candied lemon that keeps it fresh. The palate opens fresh then turns more discreet, letting the wine's underlying vinosity take over, full bodied with a long, warm, silky finish marked by bitter almond and biscuit. This is the entry point into the Henri Giraud range, but it is made no differently in spirit to the grand cuvees, fermented and raised in Argonne oak barrels on their third to fifth fill, with 50% reserve wine drawn from the house's perpetual reserve and at least two years on lees. Blend is roughly 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay.
